In this fascinating 76 page book local historian Miles Green describes the buildings in the important Conservation area within the village.
Welcome to Penn & Tylers Green Residents website

Why do we have a website?
We have a website so that we can promote the varied work that the Residents’ Society carries out – did you know that we produce Village Voice, that we own and manage the Village Pre-School as a non-profit-making community facility, that we have exclusive management rights over Common Wood and work closely with the Woodland Trust and other similar organisations, that we coordinate and represent views and concerns of residents and other village groups on community matters, that we are a Recognised Community Hub by the two local planning authorities for all major development proposals and applications, and that we are represented on the local Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG) which works with the police to identify policing priorities?
We also believe that we should have a presence online for local news and events, to provide a communication service for our community and to act as a window into Penn and Tylers Green for the outside world.
We need your help!
The challenge we now face is to maintain the website and to keep it current, and we’re looking for some help with this. Could you help on an ad hoc or more regular basis?
First and foremost, we need your contributions – articles, photographs of the villages and events (both past and present), and details of events going on around the villages. Send these by email to web@pennandtylersgreen.org.uk. You don’t have to be a professional journalist or celebrated essayist to contribute, a few words and/or pictures are enough. Having said that, if you don’t have time or don’t want to write something yourself but you hear of something happening in the villages that may be of interest to others or think we should cover a particular topic, let us know and we’ll do our best to put something together on the topic or event.
Secondly, we could do with some help with some slightly more technical tasks. This work may involve uploading articles and events to the website, coordinating our online calendar and directory, and perhaps getting involved in other related tasks. You don’t need to have any experience as we’ll give you all the training you need. All you need is a relatively up-to-date computer and loads of enthusiasm. This work can be split up into manageable chunks which means that the work can fit in around your other commitments and you can commit to as much or as little as you are able to. If you’re interested or would like more information please send me an email.
Tell us what you think
It is coming up to a year since the re-vamped Penn and Tylers Green Residents’ Society website was launched and, as we've said many times before, we think the re-launched website is a great improvement on the old site. We’re really proud of what we have achieved but we’d love to know what you think about it too and to have your suggestions about how to make it even better.
