The head teacher of William Ramsay School has called for support to re-open a “new and vibrant youth club” by Easter this year.

In a letter to parents, Mrs Comber says:

“You may be aware that Hazlemere Youth Centre has been closed since last Summer. After long negotiations with the local authority, it has been agreed that Sir William Ramsay School could start a Youth Centre Management Committee to enable the Youth Centre to re-open, and therefore offer facilities for the young people of Hazlemere to have a safe and worthwhile venue in which to spend their spare time. 

As a first step towards promoting the re-opening of the Youth Centre, a meeting has been arranged to take place in the Drama Theatre at Sir William Ramsay School, at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, 28 February. You are invited to come along to the meeting, where we hope to see as many of you as possible. 

We are looking for your support to re-launch the Youth Centre and this help can come in a number of ways. If you are adventurous enough, you could become part of the Management Committee, and if you are interested in supporting the youth of Hazlemere this could be in the form of being a volunteer to help at the Youth Club sessions. Another option would be just be by aiding us to raise funds to help with the running costs.

I really believe this event will be a great asset to both the Community and the School, so would actively encourage as many people as possible to support our efforts to open a new and vibrant Youth Club by Easter this year. “
