WI – Morning and Evening

An update on the two WI groups in P&TG...
Morning WI
As reported on the website earlier in the year, on November 15th 2011 a new MORNING WI was opened in the Village Hall.
Future meetings will be held on the third (3rd) Wednesday of each month at 10:15
- On February 15th we will be welcoming our local historian Miles Green informing us of the village history (lost mansion) etc. Do come this is a fascinating and very interesting talk.
- On March 3rd we are greatly looking forward to a talk by Ann Spalton, a National Tutor and judge of the art of sugar paste.
We are a very new friendly WI and we look forward to welcoming YOU to our meetings. Watch the press for details of further meetings, some of which will be open to men!

Evening WI
Meanwhile the evening WI is going strong...
The Evening WI had a very successful and interesting December meeting with a local auction house coming to value items and tell us a bit about them. As I write this, we are looking forward to a trip to Bath at the end of January. Later in the year we shall be visiting Kelmscott Manor (William Morris) in the Cotswolds.
Our Annual Attic Sale is on 25th February from 10 ‘til 12 and is being advertised as Trash and Treasure. “Attic Sale” seemed a bit of a misnomer! Tables are £10. Please contact Adele Haselgrove on 813060 if you are interested. Refreshments will be served and the ever popular tombola will be present.
Our February meeting is on 9th and will feature the work of the Samaritans. The speaker comes highly recommended so do come and find out more about them. On 8th March, we shall have a demonstration of Chinese Wok Cookery. Some time ago, the same speaker demonstrated Carribean cooking with delicious results so the omens are good for this meeting!
As part of a new format, we are introducing craft demonstrations at some meetings where members will demonstrate a particular craft and be able to give you some idea of the cost of taking up the craft and how/where to learn it.
Visitors are very welcome at our meetings so we look forward to meeting you. Please note that you can belong to both the Morning and the Evening WI if you so wish.
